After five glorious years of Wordstock, our annual one-day word-loving festival, we’ve decided to deconstruct its events and scatter them throughout the year and around the UK. There’s a smorgasbord of wordy delights in the making: talks on things close to our hearts, pop-up writing challenges, project launches and more.
Here’s what’s in the diary so far. We’d love to hear your ideas for other events, whether you’re in Cornwall or the Highlands or somewhere in between. Please let us know what you’re thinking at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Group therapy for copywriters: a Wordstock Deconstructed event
How do you fancy an evening in the pub chatting with other copywriters about the challenges and conundrums you’re facing in your work?
Perhaps you’re trying to decide which work to accept and which to turn down, how to find new work, or how to deal with a tricky brief. Or a tricky client, come to that. Alternatively, you might want a fresh eye on some copy in progress.
Interested? Then come along to The Betsey Trotwood in May for our very first group therapy session for copywriters. (It’s also the first Wordstock Deconstructed event of 2018.) We’ve booked the upstairs space, just for us.
What: Group Therapy for Copywriters
When: 6 – 8.30pm on Monday 21 May
Where: Upstairs at the Betsey Trotwood pub, 56 Farringdon Rd, London EC1R 3BL
How much: £10 for 26 members (£50 for non-members, including one year’s membership)
The 26 Trade Secrets training team – Heather Atchison, Fiona Thompson and Elise Valmorbida – will be your agony aunts for the evening. They’ll lend a listening ear, share their experience and help draw out the collective wisdom of the group.
Like a real therapy group, anything you say will be kept confidential. What happens at the Betsey, stays at the Betsey.
Sign up now to reserve your place. It’s only a tenner for 26 members and you’ll have a chance to resolve your copywriting dilemmas, then linger and natter with fellow copywriters afterwards.
